Job Creation

The biggest issue Dave campaigned on was Job Creation in Newton and Morgan counties.

Fortunately, due to conservative, pro-growth policies since 2005, Georgia has been ranked the Best State to Do Business In for 6 years in a row. This effort has created over 1,000,000 jobs since the recession. Closer to home, the $2B investment by Takeda (formerly Baxter and Shire), and the anticipated $42B investment by Facebook have created enormous opportunities for residents of Newton and Morgan counties.

Those policies also mean that both countries now boast a Career Academy. Piedmont Technical Schools have opened a new Advanced Technology School in Covington, and manufacturing is growing in both counties. Most importantly, family incomes in this district have risen 57% in the last few years. Future completion of the Safari Zoo in Madison and Three Rings Studios in Covington will create even more jobs for our citizens.

Dave is determined to protect and further reinforce this successful pro-business, pro-jobs environment in Georgia. This is one of his highest priorities as a legislator.

As a member of the Economic Development and Tourism Committee, Dave has been instrumental in passing many bills – especially about Rural Broadband – to continue Georgia’s business-friendly environment.
